At Prairie Ridge , housekeeping is about more than dusting, vacuuming, and doing laundry. Our residents call Prairie Ridge home, and the environment we create plays a big part in their comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life. We're looking for a dependable, caring, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team and help keep our community clean, comfortable, and welcoming. What You'll Do As a Housekeeper at Prairie Ridge, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home for our residents. Keep Our Community Looking Its Best Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, hallways, bathrooms, dining areas, and other assigned spaces. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, disinfect, and perform other routine cleaning duties. Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces as needed. Empty trash and maintain clean and orderly waste areas. Keep high-traffic and frequently touched areas clean and sanitary. Complete scheduled deep-cleaning and special cleaning projects. Help Keep Resident Rooms Comfortable Clean resident rooms according to established schedules and individual resident needs. Respect residents' belongings, privacy, personal space, and routines while working in their rooms. Communicate respectfully with residents while completing housekeeping duties. Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, spills, safety hazards, or other issues promptly. Help prepare rooms for new residents and assist with room turnover when needed. Laundry & Linen Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute facility linens and other designated laundry. Assist with resident laundry according to facility procedures. Properly label and return clothing and personal items when applicable. Maintain clean and organized laundry areas. Monitor laundry and linen supplies and report when additional supplies are needed. Safety & Infection Prevention Follow proper cleaning, disinfecting, chemical handling, and infection prevention procedures. Use cleaning products and equipment safely and according to manufacturer and facility guidelines. Properly store cleaning chemicals and supplies. Follow procedures for cleaning areas affected by illness, bodily fluids, or other special circumstances. Use appropriate personal protective equipment when required. Report safety concerns, hazards, or maintenance issues to the appropriate team member. Be Part of Our Residents' Home This is one of the most important parts of the job. While you're cleaning, you'll also become a familiar and friendly face to our residents. Take a moment to say hello, ask how someone's doing, or stop for a quick conversation. You don't have to provide direct care to make a difference. A clean room, a fresh-smelling hallway, a neatly made bed, or a friendly smile can make someone's entire day better. Work as a Team Work cooperatively with caregivers, dining services, maintenance, and management. Communicate resident concerns or changes you notice to the appropriate team member. Assist with special events, activities, seasonal cleaning, and other facility projects as needed. Help maintain a positive, respectful, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. The Experience:
Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hotel, healthcare, senior living, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
The Basics:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
The Logistics:
Must be dependable, able to pass a background check, and able to follow facility policies and procedures. The Physical Side of the Job Housekeeping is an active position. You'll spend much of your shift standing and walking and will regularly need to: Bend, stoop, reach, and kneel Push and pull cleaning equipment and carts Lift and carry cleaning and laundry supplies Safely handle cleaning equipment Move throughout the facility during your shift Why You'll Love Working at Prairie Ridge We believe the people who take care of our residents deserve to be valued too.
