Housekeeping | Environmental Services Staff | Sanitation Technician Heritage Oakwood Hills Senior Living Create a Clean Home. Bring Comfort. Make a Difference. Heritage Senior Living is looking for a dependable and caring Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, families, visitors, and employees. This isn't just a housekeeping job. You'll become a familiar and trusted part of our residents' daily lives while helping make their community truly feel like home. What You'll Do Reporting to the Executive Director or designee, the Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of resident apartments, common areas, and other areas throughout the community. Keep Our Community Clean & Welcoming Clean and maintain resident living areas, bathrooms, dining areas, offices, and common spaces. Sweep, mop, wash, and vacuum floors as needed. Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, and other surfaces. Empty trash and properly dispose of waste throughout the community. Clean resident equipment, including wheelchairs, as assigned. Complete routine and scheduled deep cleaning. Deep clean carpets, furniture, and other areas as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked housekeeping cart. Help ensure the community remains presentable, comfortable, and welcoming for residents and visitors. Support Resident Laundry Collect resident laundry according to established procedures. Wash, dry, fold, and return resident laundry. Handle resident belongings carefully and respectfully. Complete housekeeping-related laundry, including cleaning rags, mops, and other supplies as needed. Help ensure resident laundry is returned accurately and timely. Promote Safety & Infection Prevention Follow established safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures. Use cleaning products, chemicals, supplies, and equipment safely and according to instructions. Follow regular and deep-cleaning schedules. Identify and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain housekeeping supplies and notify leadership when additional supplies are needed. Help maintain an environment that supports the health and well-being of residents and employees. Be Part of the Resident Care Team Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and compassionate manner. Respect resident privacy, dignity, belongings, and personal space while completing housekeeping responsibilities. Be attentive to residents while working throughout the community. Promptly report observed changes in a resident's condition or behavior to the appropriate care team member or supervisor. Work collaboratively with caregivers, nursing, culinary, life enrichment, maintenance, and community leadership. Help create a comfortable and homelike environment for every resident. Complete Required Documentation & Training Document completed housekeeping services in the applicable point-of-care (POC) system as required. Complete assigned cleaning logs and other required documentation. Complete required Relias education and other assigned training. Participate in daily flash training and other meetings or education as scheduled. Complete other housekeeping and community responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hotel, healthcare, senior living, or related experience preferred but not required. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work discreetly and respectfully in resident and guest areas. Caring and compassionate attitude with genuine concern for older adults. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong customer-service orientation. Ability to follow cleaning, sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures. Ability to work collaboratively with employees throughout the community. Ability to learn and use required electronic documentation systems. Ability to meet applicable pre-employment, training, and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions & Physical Requirements The following are essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be provided as required by applicable law. Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, employees, and supervisors. Read and complete cleaning schedules, product instructions, safety information, electronic documentation, and other required records. Stand and walk for extended periods while performing housekeeping responsibilities. Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements associated with cleaning. Lift, carry, and move housekeeping equipment, supplies, laundry, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds as required. Push and maneuver housekeeping carts, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment. Safely use cleaning products, chemicals, and housekeeping equipment according to established procedures. Perform hands-on cleaning, laundry, and sanitation responsibilities throughout the workday. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Work a flexible schedule based on community needs, which may include weekends, holidays, and additional hours.
