This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while driving team engagement and operational excellence.
Essential Job Functions Duties:
Responsible for supervision and development of Production Supervisors in assigned area. Confirm payroll records for production employees as necessary. Maintain & be accountable for safety, food safety, cost, and productivity of assigned area. Accountable for results across all areas of responsibility. Be on call as required in case of emergency. Oversee special projects, start-ups, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives. Plan production schedules and staffing requirements. Perform various special tasks as assigned by the Shift Manager. Comply with all written corporate and plant policies. Ensure plant compliance in food safety and assist in the upkeep of the complex grounds. Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies. Follow the written specification for packaging and labeling of products. Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to the plant manager.
Abnormal situation would be:
Product tampering Willful product adulteration Unauthorized employees in restricted areas Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Working in a wet/damp environment and a normal room temperature environment. Standing/walking 100% of the workday. Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment Demonstrated ability in successfully leading a team Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to multi-task and prioritize. Creative & effective problem-solving skills. Basic knowledge of computers & related software. Experience in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years leadership experience in poultry processing Bachelor's Degree in Poultry Science, Food Science, Management or related field
