•Dish & Linen is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a high-volume dish and linen processing department. This position manages the cleaning, processing, quality control, organization, and readiness of a large variety of rental inventory while ensuring production demands are met safely, accurately, and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial kitchens, high-volume dishwashing, commercial laundry, hospitality, rental operations, or similar production environments , along with the ability to lead employees and maintain consistent standards during periods of heavy volume. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations and workflow within the Dish & Linen Department. Oversee the high-volume washing and processing of rental inventory, including plates, bowls, flatware, serving pieces, glassware, kitchen equipment, and other food-service inventory . Ensure all inventory is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, inspected, and prepared to company quality standards before returning to available inventory. Manage the processing of large quantities of linens in various sizes and materials. Oversee the operation of ironing systems , ensuring linens are processed efficiently and meet established presentation and quality standards. Coordinate washing, drying, ironing, folding, packaging, and organization of linen inventory throughout the day. Establish daily production priorities based on outgoing orders, incoming returns, inventory demand, and operational needs. Assign employees to appropriate workstations and adjust staffing throughout the day based on workload. Train, coach, and supervise Dish & Linen employees on proper equipment operation, cleaning procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices. Monitor production levels and identify bottlenecks or areas where additional support is required. Perform regular quality-control inspections and address improperly cleaned, damaged, stained, or incorrectly processed inventory. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe department. Ensure industrial dishwashing, laundry, and ironing equipment is properly operated and report maintenance or repair needs promptly. Monitor cleaning chemicals, laundry supplies, packaging materials, and other department supplies. Work closely with Operations, Inventory, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure rental inventory is processed and available when needed. Assist directly with dishwashing, laundry processing, ironing, folding, and other production responsibilities when necessary. Maintain consistent productivity and quality during peak seasons and high-volume production periods. Support staffing and scheduling needs for a department operating seven days per week . Qualifications Previous management, supervisory, or team-lead experience in a warehouse, commercial kitchen, commercial laundry, hospitality, rental, or high-volume production environment preferred. Commercial kitchen or high-volume dishwashing experience strongly preferred. Commercial laundry and industrial ironing experience preferred. Experience managing employees in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple production needs and make quick operational decisions. Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, inventory quality, and presentation. Comfortable operating and learning industrial washing, drying, and ironing equipment. Dependable and able to maintain a flexible schedule based on business needs. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and other departments. Willingness to work hands-on alongside the team when production demands require it. Physical Requirements This is an active warehouse management position. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, repeatedly bend and reach, work around heat and moisture generated by commercial equipment, and safely lift and move racks, bins, dishes, linens, and other rental inventory throughout the workday. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager who is comfortable leading from the floor , understands high-volume production, and can balance speed with quality. This individual should be capable of managing multiple processing areas simultaneously, holding employees accountable to production and quality expectations, and stepping into any area of the department when additional support is needed. Because the Dish & Linen Department supports a high-volume rental operation that runs seven days per week, reliability, flexibility, organization, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential to success in this role.
