Job Description

Position Summary The Dumper is responsible for unloading containers of raw poultry product and supplying product to the beginning of the processing line. This role lifts and dumps containers of product onto the line, removes container lids, and prepares empty containers for reuse or sanitation. The Dumper helps maintain steady product flow while handling product in a manner that protects food safety, product quality, and operational standards. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to work extended hours, including frequent overtime and weekend shifts, based on production needs. Key Responsibilities Remove lids from containers of raw poultry product before dumping. Lift containers from pallets, including pallets positioned at floor level. Dump containers of raw poultry product onto the processing line while maintaining required line speed. Monitor product flow to ensure continuous supply to the processing line. Stack empty containers and lids onto designated pallets for transport or sanitation. Break down cardboard containers, flatten cartons, and prepare materials for baling or disposal. Keep the work area organized to support safe and efficient production operations. Communicate equipment issues, product concerns, or production delays to the Line Leader or Supervisor. Follow instructions from the Line Leader or Supervisor to support production operations. Assist with other production tasks as assigned to support operational needs. Supervisory Responsibilities None. This position has no direct reports. Qualifications Education /
Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Previous experience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, or production environments preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to perform repetitive lifting throughout the work shift. Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and line leaders. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team. Basic communication skills to report concerns or production issues. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and remain on your feet for the majority of the work shift while performing production tasks. Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions at production line speed while handling poultry products, tools, or packaging materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds regularly without assistance. Ability to push, pull, move, and position materials, racks, pallets, or product containers as part of normal job duties. Ability to bend, twist, reach, grasp, and perform other physical movements required to handle product and operate within the production environment. Work Environment Work is performed in a poultry processing facility that operates year-round and may run multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays. Employees work in production areas that may include exposure to: Cold, refrigerated environments (Fresh Processing 40° to 50° degrees) Warm or hot areas near ovens, fryers, or cooking equipment (Further Processing/Ready-to-Eat) Wet and humid conditions with floors that may be wet or slippery Moderate to high noise levels requiring hearing protection Raw meat products and strong food-related odors Common food allergens used in production, including but not limited to wheat, soy, milk, sesame and egg. Moving machinery, conveyor systems, powered industrial equipment, and sharp tools.
