POSITION DESCRIPTION
The role of the Assistant Dryer Plant Manager will be to help the Dryer Plant Manager ensure efficient and safe operation of the daily activities in the dryer plant. In overall duties, he or she will act as the Dryer Plant Manager in his/her absence and advise the entire staff in all phases or activities within the plant. All duties are to be performed in an exemplary and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with supervising the entire operation of the plant - including machine processing and employees. Coach and advise the plant staff on all phases of dryer operations. Insure compliance with all company and USDA policies and procedures for dried product. Ensure positive and thorough employee recruitment, orientation, training, promotions, discipline, employee relations, and wage administration. Keep management informed of all significant activities. Must complete the weekly scheduling of all hourly employees. Must ensure that all paperwork is completed thoroughly and transmitted to the appropriate individuals. Must ensure that all inventories and necessary reports for the previous production date are accurate and sent to the office in the morning. work with the Rose Acre Sales and Transport Departments to ensure cost effective and timely shipment of our dried product to customers. This position will also ensure that all raw and finished products is processed and transported according to the strictest quality control standards. Ensure that all operation supplies and ingredients are on hand and in specification. Must report finished product to sales office weekly. Misc. organizing and housekeeping as necessary - the manager may direct these duties upon trusted employees. Assist in machine repair, clearing jams, cleaning and sanitizing breaking machines and related equipment. Ensure that the break rooms are neat, clean, orderly, and sanitary. Assist with the relief of any personnel in the drying operation. Must ensure that all material handling equipment is handled safely and efficiently. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, turn and perform other physical actions for extended periods of time and on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be reliable and extremely punctual. Must be capable of performing routine math calculations, including percentages and fractions. Must be computer literate Must possess good communication skills - both written and verbal. Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job on a routine basis. Must be capable of quickly addressing issues and responding to emergency situations in a timely and consistent manner. Must possess a strong sense of business ethics. Must be able to lift at least 65 lbs. Capable of working late (if needed) past the scheduled leave time to complete the job. Capable of working weekend shifts and maintaining a flexible schedule to help the other departments should they need assistance on a particular day. (

Possess excellent teamwork skills - as with many jobs this position requires a "team" attitude, and requires that all plant personnel work together to ensure that the job is completed. Must be able to work in a completely smoke free environment. Must have good vision and proper eyeglasses. Must be conform and abide by all Rose Acre bio-security policies, and must report any violation of this policy to upper management immediately.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres. Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed. Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting. Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
