Based on experience Position Overview The Mushroom Company is seeking a dependable Freezer Production Operator to support daily production and cold-storage operations. This position performs equipment startup, operation, defrost, sanitation, and shutdown procedures while monitoring the production process to ensure product quality and food safety. The employee will work in a refrigerated environment and assist with handling, weighing, and processing mushroom products. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, defrost, and shut down equipment on the mushroom production line. Monitor equipment and the production process to ensure proper operation. Weigh and dump mushrooms onto the production line. Move products from the cooler to designated production areas. Add and test chemicals according to established procedures. Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas. Complete required equipment, production, and food-safety checks. Accurately complete processing forms and enter production information into the computer. Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack when authorized. Assist with positioning or parking trucks when trained and authorized. Support the Cold Storage Production Supervisor as needed. Follow all safety, food-safety, quality, and sanitation procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. At least one year of production experience preferred. Familiarity with production equipment. Experience in packing, warehouse, cold-storage, or transportation operations is a plus. Forklift and electric pallet jack certification preferred. Basic computer skills. Ability to accurately read and understand words and numbers. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and managers. Ability to understand work instructions and safety information in English. Strong attention to detail. Professional and positive attitude. Willingness to work six days per week and extended hours when needed. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work throughout the shift in temperatures ranging from approximately 30°F to 34°F. Ability to lift and carry 10-20 pounds. Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, balance, stoop, or crouch as needed. Ability to see with or without corrective lenses. Ability to work safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, slicers, and other production equipment. Ability to work in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and weather conditions. Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment. Ability to think, evaluate, make decisions, and accurately report production information.
