Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Fishmonger/Meat Butcher to join our exhisting team. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly preparing, cutting, and packaging fresh fish and meat products to ensure the highest quality standards. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation protocols. Responsibilities Prepare and process fresh fish and meat products using appropriate butchery techniques, including trimming, slicing, and portioning to meet customer specifications. Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently, ensuring consistent quality in meat cutting and fish handling. Maintain cleanliness by following food safety sanitizing procedures, including proper cleaning of workstations, tools, and equipment. Conduct visual inspections to monitor quality control, checking for freshness, appearance, and signs of spoilage in perishable goods. Manage perishable goods inventory carefully, rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure freshness at all times. Qualifications Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or retail store environments with a focus on meat processing or fish handling. Skilled in butchery techniques including meat cutting, trimming, slicing, and using knives with precision. Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to maintain a hygienic workspace. Ability to operate food processing machinery safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of quality control standards. Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and pricing products accurately. Kitchen or culinary experience is needed.
