Generic Position Primary Duties:
Keep a reasonable flow of meat products going through the smokehouses and deep fryers Required to lift, push, and pull products to maintain a reasonable flow of raw materials to produce finished products Smoke, cook and fry raw products using our traditional process which requires extensive attention to detail Responsible for constantly checking product temperatures as well as smokehouses to ensure products comply with USDA and Dietz & Watson requirements Responsible for rotating raw and finished products regularly to meet daily production needs
Secondary Duties:
Use good manufacturing practices for food handling Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace Perform other related duties and assignments as required All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production
Physical Requirements:
Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day) Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8+ hours per day) Capability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis Capability to push and pull racks in excess of 400 lbs. Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8+ hours per day)
Working Conditions/Physical Environment :
Due to refrigeration that is required for the products, the room temperature is maintained at a temperature between 28 degrees (F) and 34 degrees (F), therefore candidates must be able to work in this environment constantly throughout the shift (8+ hours per day) Due to high temperatures in the smokehouses, the room temperatures can reach up to 120 degrees (F) for limited periods of time when removing finished product
Equipment and Machinery Used Racks Minimum Requirements Basic Job Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older Must have reliable transportation Must be United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check Must be able to read and comprehend English Must know basic mathematic skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for purposes of a proper count of product and to ensure that proper temperatures are being applied based on quantities of products being cooked Position requires some computer skills to monitor the smokehouses
