Job Description

The Meat Processor/Cutter is responsible for cutting, trimming, grinding, and packaging meat products to company and food safety specifications. This role requires precision knife skills, knowledge of meat cuts, and strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Cut, trim, bone, and portion meat (beef, pork, etc.) according to specifications and customer orders Operate and maintain cutting equipment, including band saws, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers Weigh, wrap, label, and price products for display or shipment Inspect meat for quality, freshness, and identify any defects or contamination Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of equipment and tools Properly store and rotate meat products to minimize waste Sharpen and maintain knives and cutting tools Assist with inventory counts and stock ordering as needed Load, unload, and move meat products, sometimes requiring heavy lifting Follow all workplace safety protocols, including proper use of protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves, aprons, etc.) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior experience as a meat cutter, butcher, or in meat processing preferred Knowledge of various cuts of meat and cutting techniques Ability to operate and safely handle sharp tools and heavy machinery Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., USDA, HACCP) is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly (heavier lifting may be required occasionally) Ability to stand for extended periods in a cold environment (walk-in coolers/freezers) Comfortable working with raw meat and using sharp cutting tools Work Environment Refrigerated processing area (typically 34-40°F) Fast-paced, physically demanding settings
Shift:
Monday - Thursday. Full-Time. Your day starts at 6am, ends when the job is over around 4:30/5pm.
Pay:
Based on experience. $18-$24/hr.
