In this role, you will be responsible for processing poultry products efficiently and safely, ensuring all meat products meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate is motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on delivering high-quality poultry products. The hours for this second shift are 3:30pm-12:30am, Monday through Friday. Essential Job Functions/Duties Below is a brief outline of the essential job functions and duties, which may be adjusted by management from time to time. 1. Use knives, cleaver, meat saws, band saws, or other equipment to cut and trim meat. 2. Clean, trim, slice and section carcasses for future processing. 3. Cut and trim meat to prepare for packing. 4. Remove parts, such as skin and bones from carcass. 5. Inspect meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and remove them along with any excess fat. 6. Provide support to packing when needed. Responsibilities Operate meat processing equipment and machinery following manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. Perform butchery and meat cutting tasks with precision, ensuring proper portioning and product presentation. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and USDA regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times to ensure safety during processing activities. Assist in packaging finished poultry products, ensuring accurate labeling and adherence to food safety standards. Follow all OSHA guidelines to promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Support compliance with regulatory, legal, and food safety standards related to meat product production and food industry best practices. Qualifications Previous experience in food processing, meat cutting, or poultry production is highly preferred. Knowledge of sanitation procedures, HACCP principles, and USDA regulations related to food safety. Ability to perform basic math calculations for portioning, weight measurements, and inventory tracking. Strong knife skills and experience with butchery or meat product production are desirable. Familiarity with manufacturing SOPs, GMP standards, and safety protocol adherence in a food production setting. Mechanical knowledge of processing equipment is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards throughout the production process.
