This is not a standard back-of-house cook position. Our Grill Masters prepare and fire-grill meats, manage multiple cuts and cooking temperatures, carry skewers throughout the dining room, and carve meats tableside for guests. We are looking for applicants who are comfortable working around high heat, open-flame grills, sharp carving knives, heavy skewers and a fast-paced dining room.

Applicants must: Have previous restaurant kitchen, grill, line cook, meat preparation or comparable food-service experience Be consistently available for Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays Be available for evenings, holidays and other high-volume restaurant days Be comfortable working continuously around open-flame/high-heat grills Be comfortable safely handling large knives and carving meat Be able to stand and move for the majority of the shift Be able to safely lift, carry and maneuver loaded meat skewers repeatedly throughout the shift Be comfortable interacting directly with guests and carving meats tableside Be able to follow cooking temperatures, food-safety procedures and sanitation standards Have reliable transportation to Rodizio Grill Hamilton Place Be dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts If you are unable to consistently work weekends, please do not apply for this opening. What You'll Do As a Rodizio Grill Grill Master/Gaucho, you will: Prepare, season and grill a variety of meats Monitor grill temperatures and cook meats to required specifications Maintain proper rotation and availability of meat selections during service Safely load, transport and handle large skewers Circulate throughout the dining room offering selections to guests Carve meats tableside safely and professionally Communicate with servers, other Grill Masters and managers regarding guest requests Maintain a clean and organized grill and prep area Follow food-safety, sanitation and company procedures Complete opening, closing and cleaning responsibilities Work as part of a team during high-volume dinner, weekend and holiday shifts The Right Person for This Job This position is a strong fit for someone who is: Dependable and punctual Comfortable working under pressure Confident around grills and knives Able to multitask without sacrificing food quality or safety Friendly enough to interact with guests while remaining focused on the grill Willing to learn the Rodizio style of Brazilian grilling and tableside service Interested in becoming highly skilled at meat preparation, grilling and carving Previous Brazilian steakhouse experience is helpful but not required. We can teach our specific process to someone who already has a strong restaurant work ethic and relevant cooking/grill experience.
