Job Description

Summary of Position:
Fortune Fish & Gourmet is hiring in our Seafood Department! This is an exciting time to join our rapidly growing business! We are continually looking for outstanding talent to join our extraordinary and fun group of employees.

ResponsibilitiesDuties include sorting, butchering, cleaning, weighing, and boxing various seafood products.

All Fortune employees are required to wear protective safety gear and are responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.

QualificationsProduct and industry knowledge- fish and seafood handling preferredKnife experienceMust be 18 years of age or older.

Must have a basic understanding of the English language, including the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.

Able to work with seafood, including various types of fish and shellfish.

Able to lift to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the work shift.

Must follow all directions and adhere to work rules.

Must be willing and able to work with other departments in a team atmosphere.

Must be willing and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to cool, wet, and/or humid conditions, as well as moving mechanical parts. There is exposure to raw fish in the workplace.
Minimum Requirements:
2-3 years of cutting/filleter experience required. Education High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience 2-3 years of experience use of fillet knives, food processing equipment and food safety in a fast-paced environment. Seafood experience preferred.

Work ethic A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines. Language Basic English speaking and written proficiency.
Environmental:
