In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fish by filleting, trimming, and portioning to meet quality standards and customer specifications. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced food industry environment, emphasizing food safety, sanitation, and efficient food handling practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong knife skills, experience with fish and meat processing, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Filleting fresh fish with precision using appropriate slicing techniques Trimming and portioning fish to meet product specifications Operating meat processing machines safely and efficiently Ensuring all products are visually inspected for quality control Following food safety sanitizing procedures regularly to maintain hygiene standards Packaging fish products accurately for retail or wholesale distribution Managing perishable goods with proper storage and handling techniques Assisting in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in compliance with food safety regulations Experience Candidates should have prior experience in food production or preparation, particularly within the seafood. Experience working in retail stores or kitchens is highly desirable.
Essential skills include:
