Role:
The Night Shift Lead supports daily production activities and provides hands-on direction to employees who operate equipment and process recyclable materials, including metal, glass, plastic, paper, and cardboard. This position helps maintain safe, efficient operations while supporting production and quality goals.

Promote compliance with all company safety, health, environmental, and operational policies. Provide day-to-day guidance and work direction to night-shift employees. Assign tasks based on production needs and demonstrate safe, efficient work practices. Monitor sorting, equipment operation, processing, and baling activities. Inspect equipment and report maintenance or operational concerns. Support improvements to workflow, productivity, and material quality. Enter production information and assist with time, attendance, and production reports. Provide hands-on support across operational areas as needed. Lead by example and help maintain a positive, accountable work environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent business experience required
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Previous lead experience in a fast-paced recycling, manufacturing, or production environment Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills Demonstrated ability to follow procedure and work from a set of written instructions Ability to work in a plant processing environment for extended periods of time Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Flexibility required to work successfully on a team Active individual who will be comfortable spending most of the day walking Basic computer skills Good time management and multi-tasking ability Must speak and understand English; Spanish spoken and written fluency is a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
The normal work environment is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring necessary precautions, including PPE The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, and feel. Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work outside under extreme temperature conditions. (Heat, cold, etc.)
