About Us Jasper Hill Farm is a leader in the artisan cheese industry, producing award-winning cheeses that are nationally and internationally acclaimed. We're a mission-based company, working to preserve Vermont's agricultural soils and working landscape through farmstead cheese production. Position Summary The Cropping Team Lead plays a key role in Jasper Hill's cropping operation, leading the crew that produces the hay powering our raw milk cheese production. This position sets and coordinates the crew's daily work plan, oversees nutrient management and inventory tracking, and serves as the primary point of contact for farm managers and hay customers alike. This role can be structured as year round or seasonal (April through early December), depending on the right fit for the candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of a production plan as part of a team.
  • Provide customer service to farm managers and hay customers.
  • Coordinate Nutrient Management
  • Inventory Management (Label bales, track production, and coordinate field locations).
  • Participate in field work to produce high quality hay. Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Experience running farm equipment for cropping hay.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills; computer skills; attention to detail
  • Independently motivated and team oriented
  • Able to learn quickly, ask questions, share concerns, seek information/answers, problem solve Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly, be able to bend and kneel,and have a good sense of balance.
This is an intensely physical position.
Pay:
$21.50 - $35.00 per hour
