As a key leader in our Meat and Seafood departments, the Seafoodmonger has a breadth of responsibilities spanning from product management and merchandising to sales and team member development. The Seafoodmonger is responsible for ensuring exceptional product quality and aesthetic presentation within our Meat and Seafood areas, with a primary focus on Seafood, while providing legendary service to our guests as they explore our beautifully kept marketplace. Our fast-paced environment requires this position to successfully prioritize a variety of tasks (product merchandising, administrative, supervisory, and guest service) throughout each workday.MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'D DO
Provide outstanding customer service and readily communicate product information to increase sales, meet revenue goals, and best serve guests. Collaborate with the Meat/Seafood Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader to achieve sales, gross profit, labor and supply budgets for the Seafood Department. Function as a skilled seafood buyer and cutter. Plan and execute Seafood Department merchandising and display, maintaining high-quality standards in product management and presentation. Lead and readily participate in product promotions and focuses. Assist Meat/Seafood Team Leader in creating weekly team member work schedule. Lead by example and provide team members with clear expectations and timely feedback. Train team members and provide performance feedback, coaching and counseling. Prevent internal and external loss, conduct physical inventories, and practice inventory control. Successfully perform all duties of a Journeyperson Meat/Seafood Flexible Purpose Clerk.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum of three years of experience in the seafood industry required. Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated success as a leader within a team environment. Delivers exceptional customer service and possesses strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation and initiative, with strong problem-solving skills and proven success working in a diverse team environment. Possesses creative merchandising and display skills. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, produce quality work within deadlines, and effectively manage time and workload. Possesses excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrates comprehensive seafood product knowledge and a history of training team members. Possesses knowledge of food safety, HACCP/Department of Health guidelines, inventory management, gross profit, and labor percentages. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of food, including ingredients, applications, pronunciations, and culinary skills.WHAT WE OFFER
