Job Overview
The Slurry Helper facilitates the Slurry Operator in maintaining the proper blend of dry ingredients product. Job Responsibilities
- Read blend sheets and follows instructions that may be given on the blend sheets to standardize blender.
- Follow production order for groups.
- Assure sample cups are near blenders.
- Scrape any mold found on cheese and deposits mold in detained product tubs.
- Weigh and record fish bait on fish bait recording sheets.
- If there are any abnormalities in cheese quality notifies Quality Assurance and Supervisor.
- Stays ahead on job tasks as much as possible to assure that cooks have blenders ready to run and don't run out of cheese.
- Keep work area neat and disposes of empty powder bags, cardboard, plastic, and any work debris.
- Practices good housekeeping of work areas and grinder office.
- Clean up powder spills by blenders and powder room.
- Keep floor swept around grinders.
- Assure that all necessary ingredients are ready and on hand for use.
- Notify supervisor if any problems occur.
- Unplug grinder when plugged.
- Use prescribed tools in the manner in which they were intended.
- Help Slurry and Slurry helps Grinders and other co-workers when they are available.
- Clean, organize or performs projects given to them by the Supervisor.
- Assist with the training of new employees when requested by Supervisor.
- Fill out all paperwork completely and correctly including name, production line number and products ran.
- Sanitize lines at start up.
- Inspect grinder screens in the beginning of each shift.
- Fill cooker ingredient insure they are properly labeled with ingredient and proper batch numbers and date/time they were filled

Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to read production schedule and plan and organize workday.
- Self-motivated and can work with limited supervision.
- Ability to operate a handheld computer/scanner.
- Ability to operate various Powered Industrial Trucks.
- Ability to manage time and organize work.
- Ability to follow instructions and proper work procedures.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and management.
- Good communication skills: verbal and written.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous manufacturing experience.
Working Conditions
- Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
- Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
- Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
- Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
- Use of motor skills to safely drive tow motors or other motorized vehicles in tight quarters.
