School Bus Driver About Highland Kids Academy Highland Kids Academy is a Christ-centered childcare and after-school program serving children from Pre-K through 6th grade. We provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children before and after school and during school breaks and summer programs. We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious, and responsible Bus Driver to provide transportation for students attending Highland Kids Academy. The safety of our students is our highest priority. The ideal candidate will be punctual, patient, professional, and comfortable working with children. Position Summary The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students from designated schools to Highland Kids Academy and following all required transportation procedures. The driver must maintain a safe and positive atmosphere while students are on the bus, follow assigned routes and schedules, communicate transportation concerns with administration, and complete required vehicle and transportation documentation. Essential Responsibilities Safely transport students from designated schools to Highland Kids Academy. Follow assigned bus routes and schedules. Arrive at assigned schools on time for student pickup. Maintain appropriate supervision of students while they are on the bus. Follow all applicable traffic laws and transportation safety requirements. Complete required pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and safety checks. Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns immediately. Ensure required emergency equipment and transportation documentation are maintained. Follow Highland Kids Academy transportation policies and procedures. Maintain appropriate student conduct and address minor behavior concerns professionally. Communicate student or transportation concerns to the appropriate HKA administrator. Maintain accurate transportation records as required. Keep the bus clean and in appropriate condition. Follow emergency procedures and HKA safety protocols. Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, and other HKA staff. Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families. Represent Highland Kids Academy professionally while interacting with schools, families, and the community.

Qualifications Required:

Must meet all applicable requirements to legally operate the assigned school bus. Must maintain any required driver's license, endorsements, certifications, and/or qualifications. Must have a safe driving record. Must be dependable and punctual. Must be able to work independently while following established procedures. Must be comfortable transporting and interacting with children. Must be able to communicate effectively with HKA staff. Must pass all required background and employment screenings. Must follow all applicable state and childcare transportation regulations. No CDL required!!

Preferred:

Previous experience driving a school bus or transporting children. Previous childcare, education, school, camp, or youth-program experience. CPR/First Aid certification. Experience working with elementary or middle-school-aged children.
