Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a School Bus Attendant for the 2026-2027 school year! In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during their daily transportation. Your positive attitude and attentive nature will help create a welcoming environment on the bus, fostering a sense of security for children of all ages and needs. Duties Assist students boarding and exiting the school bus, ensuring safe and orderly procedures. Monitor student behavior during transit, applying conflict management techniques to promote positive interactions. Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to medical or safety incidents. Support students with special education needs or behavioral challenges, implementing individualized strategies as directed. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to address concerns and relay important information. Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, ensuring safety equipment is functional at all times. Document incidents or concerns accurately and report them to appropriate personnel promptly. Requirements Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is preferred. Ability to perform basic first aid and respond calmly in emergency situations. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff. Demonstrated patience, reliability, and a positive attitude toward student safety and well-being. Must meet all state or local requirements for school transportation personnel, including background checks.
