Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a School Bus Attendant and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during their daily transportation. This energetic position offers an opportunity to positively impact students' lives by providing attentive supervision, implementing behavior management strategies, and supporting students with diverse needs. As a key member of our transportation team, you will promote a safe and welcoming environment on the bus while adhering to school policies and safety regulations. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and making a difference in their educational journey. Duties Supervise students during bus transit, ensuring they are seated safely and following behavior expectations Assist students with disabilities or special needs, providing necessary support for mobility, communication, and safety Enforce school policies and transportation safety regulations consistently to maintain order and discipline Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct among students, including conflict resolution when needed Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student behavior or safety concerns Administer basic first aid and CPR in emergency situations, following established protocols Support evacuation procedures during emergencies or drills to ensure student safety at all times Communicate with families regarding arrival & dropoff times Support bus driver with directions or assistance Experience Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with students with disabilities or behavioral challenges preferred Familiarity with school policies, safety regulations, and transportation procedures required Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, teachers, and emergency responders Ability to handle conflict management situations calmly and professionally Basic first aid certification and CPR training are required; ongoing training provided as needed Experience supporting students with physical disabilities or behavioral needs is a plus Join us in creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters student success! Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
