Location:
District Transportation Assistant - (school year employment) - Class I Secretary/Paraprofessional Unit Position Morning rider/assistant (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in the morning on school days only).
Bus Requirements:
Responsible for supervising students to meet transportation needs. Accompany driver on school transportation to take care of personal needs and assure student safety. Monitor student behavior during bus ride to ensure safe behavior and prevention of injury, support behavior and physical needs as identified in student goals, and provide support services listed in IEPs (as necessary) in concert with the driver. Assist transportation driver in buckling of seat belts and securing any other necessary devices. Assist in getting students from curb to bus. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and family information as required under FERPA. Assist in any other miscellaneous functions as needed by students or driver. Regular attendance to ensure consistency for student is a high priority. Interview process may be required.
