$85,000-$95,000 per year, depending on experience Position Summary Metropolitan Transportation Network, Inc. is seeking an experienced, confident, and hands-on Terminal Manager to lead our school transportation operations in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Terminal Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the terminal, including daily transportation operations, employee supervision, staffing, routing, safety, customer service, and communication with school district partners. This position requires a strong leader who can establish expectations, hold employees accountable, solve problems quickly, and keep the terminal operating safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Red Wing terminal Supervise transportation, dispatch, administrative, driver, aide, and maintenance personnel Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, safety, and professionalism Oversee daily routes and ensure students are transported safely and on time Respond promptly to route disruptions, staffing shortages, weather events, accidents, and other operational concerns Partner with recruiting and HR to hire, onboard, and retain qualified drivers and support staff Maintain sufficient driver coverage, including substitute and standby coverage Monitor employee performance and address coaching, disciplinary, and attendance matters Build positive working relationships with school district representatives, families, employees, and community partners Work closely with Safety and Training personnel to maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, company, and school district requirements Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure vehicles are safe, available, and properly maintained Review operational performance and identify opportunities to improve routing, staffing, communication, and service Maintain accurate records and submit required reports in a timely manner Be available during critical operating hours and emergencies Qualifications Three or more years of transportation, school bus, logistics, or comparable operations-management experience preferred Previous experience directly supervising employees and managing day-to-day operations Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities Demonstrated ability to establish expectations and hold employees accountable Excellent communication and customer-service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and school transportation regulations is strongly preferred School bus operations experience is strongly preferred CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements is preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain the required license Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to pass all required background checks and drug-screening requirements What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be visible, dependable, organized, and comfortable making decisions.
