In this vital role, you will assist with the safe transportation of students, including those with special needs or disabilities, ensuring they arrive at school and return home safely. Your energetic support will foster a positive and secure environment on the bus, promoting student well-being and adherence to safety policies. Duties Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment during transportation routes. Support students with special education needs or physical disabilities by providing necessary assistance and comfort. Ensure proper student supervision, including managing behavior and enforcing school policies and procedures. Help students board and disembark safely, using appropriate child safety protocols and evacuation procedures when needed. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules, behavioral concerns, or emergencies. Support classroom activities related to transportation safety, first aid, and conflict management as required. Maintain confidentiality of student information and follow all safety regulations during transit operations. Experience Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management for students with disabilities, and conflict resolution techniques is advantageous.. Familiarity with school policies, evacuation procedures, and transportation safety regulations is beneficial. Proven ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Experience supporting students with physical disabilities or behavioral challenges enhances your effectiveness in this role.
