Job Description

Job Summary:
Rochester Medical Transportation (RMT) is seeking a compassionate and responsible Wheelchair Bus Monitor
  • Canandaigua NY to assist passengers with disabilities during transportation.
The Wheelchair Bus Monitor will ensure the safety, comfort, and proper securement of passengers while following all company and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist passengers in safely boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Properly secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices to ensure safe transport.
  • Monitor passengers during transit, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, passengers, and caregivers regarding transportation needs.
  • Provide assistance to passengers with special needs, including securing seatbelts and harnesses.
  • Respond to any passenger concerns or emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weight when assisting passengers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to passenger safety.
