Job Description

Bus Monitor — Midland ISD Transportation Midland ISD Transportation is hiring Bus Monitors to help us safely transport 28,700 students across 40 campuses every day. Monitors are essential safety partners who ride alongside our drivers, supervise students onboard, and ensure every child — including those with special needs — gets to and from school safely and with dignity. What you'll do: Supervise student behavior and safety while riding the bus Assist with boarding, seating, and securement (including wheelchair lifts and restraint systems on special needs routes) Enforce district bus conduct policies and support the driver in managing the route Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff Complete required daily safety checks alongside the driver What we're looking for: Ability to read and write English; basic computer skills Comfortable lifting, sitting for extended periods, and working around moving vehicles Reliable, patient, and attentive to detail — you're often the first familiar face a student sees each day Willingness to complete MISD training and certification requirements
