Our team is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and is currently seeking experienced bus attendants with a demonstrated track record of working with students with special needs. Attendant The Attendant plays a critical role in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students during transportation. This position is about more than supervision—it's about being a trusted, consistent presence who ensures that every ride is calm, secure, and affirming for each student. Key Responsibilities Assist students with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking safely and respectfully. Communicate with students in a patient, reassuring manner—adjusting tone and approach to each individual's needs. Help maintain a calm, emotionally safe space inside the vehicle, using de-escalation techniques as needed. Observe student behavior and well-being during transit and report any concerns to appropriate staff. Support the driver in emergency procedures, including evacuation drills and administering basic first aid (if certified). Keep the transport environment clean, organized, and free of hazards that could affect student safety. Assist with documentation as needed (attendance logs, incident notes, etc.). Participate in regular training for disability awareness, behavior support, and trauma-informed care. Submit documentation for any incidents, observations, and student interactions. Communicate with parents, teachers, and drivers regarding student needs and concerns. Accurately record trip details using the provided trip tickets daily. Qualifications Genuine interest in working with children and individuals with disabilities. Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and observant in dynamic or stressful situations. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Fluency in English (written and oral) Willingness to complete training in CPR, first aid, and behavioral support strategies. Willingness to submit to random drug screening and background check.
