The Bus Supervisory Assistant is directly responsible for the supervision, safety, and well-being of students while being transported to and from school and school-related activities. The Bus Supervisory Assistant works collaboratively with the bus driver, parents/guardians, school staff, and special services personnel to ensure students are transported safely and appropriately.Duties/Responsibilities [or Essential Functions]:
Supervise students by enforcing safety regulations while riding the bus. Assist in properly securing wheelchairs. Properly fasten in seats when required. See that each child is seated and stays seated. Other safety regulations. Help load and unload students requiring assistance, including wheelchair students. Work cooperatively with parents. Assist with the management of children with special health problems, e.g., seizures. Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor of Transportation and the Director of Special Services.
