Job Description

Substitute Bus Monitor Posted 8/21/26 Mary M. Knight School District is seeking applicants for Substitute Bus Monitors .
Duties:
Provides bus supervision of students to maintain a safe environment, monitor and encourage positive student behavior, and provide disciplinary intervention, if necessary. Assists with duties prescribed by the school bus driver/van driver and Director of Transportation for safe bus riding. Supervises students as assigned while on the bus, van, or car. Assists with installing seat belts/harnesses in buses/van for the safety of children needing special transportation to/from school and knowledge in correctly putting on and taking off seat belts. Performs other related work as assigned. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and/or successful previous work experience applicable to the job requirements. Successfully complete Washington State Patrol background check and Fingerprinting. Obtain a current CPR/First Aid card within 90 days of hire and keep it current. Ability to pass right response training and keep current Reports to:
