Activities Assistant Birmingham, AL Highlands Rehabilitation and Wellness Center At Highlands Rehabilitation and Wellness, we bring skilled nursing, therapy, and rehabilitation together with the warmth and comfort of true Southern hospitality. As an Activities Assistant at our vibrant rehabilitation and wellness center, you will play a vital role in fostering a sense of community and promoting overall wellness among our patients.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and creative Activities Assistant to join our dynamic team. As an Activities Assistant, you will design and implement entertaining and engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our patients. Your responsibilities will include planning and coordinating events, games, and therapies that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily activities, such as arts and crafts, music therapy, and recreational games, that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our patients Collaborate with other staff members to design and coordinate special events, such as holiday parties, talent shows, and community outings Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and caregivers to identify and address their needs and preferences Assist with the development and implementation of individualized activity plans to meet the unique needs of each patient Maintain accurate records of activities and patient participation Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new activities and programs
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, occupational therapy, or related field preferred 0 years of experience; previous experience in healthcare or recreation preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with transfers and ambulation Opportunities for professional growth and development Collaborative and supportive work environment How to
