Volleyball coaching and playing experience a must. Must be in good physical condition to officiate sports games, set up game locations and run the league. NYS will provide training and oversight. Individuals must know the community well and be able to secure gymnasium locations for games and practices. Games are on weekends or weeknights. Must be able to train volunteer coaches and officials. Send resume with sports and managerial experience. This is a part-time position to start. Office days are spent at our Peoria location, while game days are spent across the valley. Responsibilities With the guidance of the Youth Sports Director, implements, and manages sports programs, complying with all Association standards and safety procedures Recruits, hires, and trains all staff and volunteer positions Supervises and evaluates staff regularly to ensure program quality and consistency Officiates and instructs as needed Secures facilities for programs Administers the volleyball program within the departmental budget Assesses and recommends budgeting for program needs Ensures that program areas, equipment and supplies are maintained orderly and safely Develops, produces, and disseminates appropriate program information to promote sports programs to the public and current members Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned Qualifications Knowledge and understanding of volleyball Experience with computers including word processing and database software Ability to train sports instructors, coaches, referees, and site supervisors Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the recruitment, training and supervision of professional staff and volunteers Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communication skills, including the ability to make oral presentations Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, peers, volunteers, and supervisor Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations Please attach resume for evaluation.
