Job Overview:
The Activities Coordinator has an essential role in enhancing the quality of life for residents at Sedona Winds Assisted Living and Memory Care. This position is responsible for creating and implementing a complete program of daily activities suitable for our residents. This should include physical, social, cultural, spiritual, recreational, psychological, and philosophical sensorial and therapeutic activities. The Activities Coordinator will work closely with our residents and their families.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years working with the elderly in a social, recreational, or creative environment, preferred.
  • Memory care experience, preferred.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid and current AZ driver license.
Essential Functions:
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule, and implement a complete activity program to satisfy all residents' abilities and preferences as described above.
  • Coordinates activities with chauffeur that includes excursions away from the community.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of games, puzzles, books, magazines, periodicals, tapes, and movies.
  • Decorates and celebrates all holidays honored by any of the residents including resident birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
  • Keeps abreast of all state rules and regulations regarding activities or therapies for seniors.
  • Joins any organization that will enhance the position or be of benefit to the residents or the occupancy of Sedona Winds.
  • Accompanies residents on all excursions outside the facility and assumes responsibility for their attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
