Job Description

SUMMARY We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at White Elementary School as an Activity Helper. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about fostering a positive and engaging environment. The Activity Helper will assist in organizing and supervising recreational activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities and programs for students. Supervise students during recreational activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Encourage student participation and engagement in various activities. Provide support to teachers and staff during special events and programs. Help maintain a clean and organized activity area. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding activities and schedules. Monitor student behavior and promote positive interactions among peers. Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and events. Report any concerns or issues regarding student safety or behavior to appropriate staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age One (1) year of childcare experience Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Must know how to play the violin and/or Folklorico Dance
REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE FBI
fingerprint background check required. Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude. Ability to pass a background check as required by school policy. Availability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and occasional weekends. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but not required. Bilingual in English and Spanish

White Elementary School - Drexel & Mission Area 2 hours per day Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
