  • We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care by planning and facilitating engaging activities. This position requires a strong understanding of caregiving, particularly for individuals facing aging issues, memory care needs, and dementia. The Activity Assistant will work closely with residents, their families, and other staff members to create a supportive and enriching environment.
  • Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and implement recreational and social activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities that promote social interaction.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to assess residents' needs and preferences for activity participation.
  • Document resident participation in activities and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate staff.
  • Provide support during special events, outings, and group activities to ensure a positive experience for all participants.
  • Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages resident involvement.
  • Skills
  • Experience in caregiving or working with the elderly is essential.
  • Knowledge of aging issues counseling and long-term care practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong event planning skills to create diverse programming that meets the needs of residents.
  • Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care strategies is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while being adaptable to changing needs.
  • A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of individuals in a nursing home or similar setting.
