Join Our Team as a Driver & Activities Assistant! Do you want a job that makes a meaningful impact in the lives of our elderly community? We are looking for a compassionate and dependable individual to serve as both an Activities Assistant and Driver, helping to create an engaging and enriching environment for our residents. In this dual role, you will support our Activities Director in planning and leading recreational programs while also ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our residents.
Activities Assistant Responsibilities:
Support the mission, vision, and culture of our organization. Plan, assist, and lead engaging activities and events for residents. Encourage and promote resident participation in programs. Facilitate group activities, sing-a-longs, exercise classes, and gardening projects. Assist with holiday and special occasion decorations. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality while performing scheduled activities.
Driver Responsibilities:
Safely transport residents to and from scheduled destinations in a timely manner. Plan efficient driving routes based on road and traffic conditions. Stay informed about road conditions, adjusting routes as needed. Ensure vehicles are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Schedule regular vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with seniors, particularly those with dementia, in a senior living community. Proven experience as a driver with a valid Class B driver's license (with passenger endorsement) and a clean driving record. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to engage and redirect residents effectively. Ability to operate a
VCR, DVD
player, and stereo system. Familiarity with GPS devices and local area roads. Polite, professional, and calm demeanor in all situations. Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50). High school diploma or equivalent. Valid First Aid Certification required.
