https://www.calopps.org/foster-city/job-20766438 The City of Foster City is seeking a skilled, motivated, and community‑focused Recreation Rental Coordinator to join our Parks and Recreation Department! The ideal candidate is an experienced recreation professional who is highly organized, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Experience with facility rentals, event coordination, and customer service is highly desirable. They are detail-oriented, proactive, communicate effectively, build positive working relationships, and use sound judgment when resolving issues. Strong written communication skills, comfort with technology, and an interest or experience in marketing and promoting facilities and services are also valued. Work Schedule The anticipated schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with flexibility to adjust workdays and hours based on facility rental, program, and special event needs. Education and Experience Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

A typical way would be:

Education:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related field. Equivalent of a BA degree in recreation and leisure or a related field.

Experience:

At least three (3) years of professional recreation work experience as a Recreation Coordinator I or the equivalent. Special Requirements Remain calm in difficult situations and circumstances Respond politely and courteously to citizen inquiries and complaints Act quickly in emergencies Listening and speaking skills to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of people and age groups Move tables, chairs, and equipment; and lift equipment and supplies from 5 to 50 lbs. in weight Demonstrate recreational activities, games, crafts, and athletic techniques Crouch, stoop, squat and stand for moderate periods of time
