The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, recreational therapy, and event planning, with a genuine passion for engaging and supporting individuals with diverse needs. As an Activities Assistant, you will coordinate and implement stimulating activities that promote socialization, cognitive function, and overall well-being, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive environment for all residents. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs. Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living) to promote independence and comfort. Collaborate with care staff to develop personalized activity plans that support memory care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care requirements. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a consistent flow of events that encourage social interaction and mental stimulation. Provide companionship and emotional support during activities, fostering a positive community atmosphere. Coordinate special events, outings, and community programs that enhance residents' quality of life. Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to continually improve activity offerings. Support residents in addressing aging issues through counseling or referrals when appropriate, working closely with social workers or healthcare professionals. Experience Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and long-term care practices. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized care is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Background in caregiving or home & community care enhances ability to address diverse resident needs. Familiarity with scheduling management tools and documentation practices related to activity programming.
