Oakland Expanded Learning is hiring Group Leaders ready to turn ordinary afternoons into something students genuinely look forward to. You'll run your own group, lead activities that mix learning with laughter, and become a steady, trusted presence in young lives. The best part? You don't have to wait months to see results. Part-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 5 days/week
Shift:
1:00 PM-6:30 PM (Wednesdays begin at 12:45 PM)

You're the constant students can rely on—and the spark that keeps things interesting. Day to day, you will: Supervise and mentor your own group of about 15-20 students Move students through homework support, enrichment projects, and active recreation Plan lively, purposeful activities that stretch imaginations and build teamwork Cultivate a group culture where every student belongs and feels valued Keep accurate attendance without losing momentum or engagement Team up with site staff to protect routines and raise program quality Lead by example with patience, consistency, and genuine care What It Takes Must-Haves 18 years of age or older 48 completed college units or a passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam (we'll support your prep if needed) Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background checks CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire (provided free)
