Expanded Learning As an Afterschool Group Leader, you'll take charge of your own group of elementary or middle school students and turn the hours after school into something worth showing up for. Games. Sports. Creative projects. Homework help. Team challenges. Conversations. Lots of unexpected moments. You'll be the person keeping it all moving by bringing the energy, setting expectations, building relationships, and making sure students feel safe, included, and excited to participate. YOUR GROUP. YOUR ENERGY. YOUR IMPACT.

You'll lead a group of approximately 15-20 students through their afternoon. That means you'll: Lead games, sports, art, STEM, team challenges, and other enrichment activities Support students during homework and academic time Create activities based on students' interests and needs Build relationships and make sure students feel welcomed and included Set clear expectations and reinforce positive behavior Help students navigate conflicts and challenges Track attendance and actively supervise your group Work closely with your site team to keep the program safe, organized, and engaging

WHAT YOU'LL GET

WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY

You must: Be at least 18 years old Have completed 48 college semester units OR pass an Instructional Aide Exam Be able to successfully clear required DOJ/FBI background checks Complete CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire Physical Requirements You'll spend your afternoons interacting with students, participating in activities, moving between program spaces, and supervising students indoors and outdoors.

The position requires:

Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to supervise program activities Frequent standing, walking, and bending Occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds Ability to clearly monitor indoor and outdoor activities Ability to move quickly when responding to emergencies or safety concerns Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
