Days/FT Travel:
- Occasional travel may be required for off-site resident outings and community events.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or completion of at least two years of college coursework is preferred.
General Job Knowledge:
- Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, use of equipment and Hospital and departmental policies necessary for job performance.
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement person-centered programs, fostering engagement and independence. Familiarity with recreational therapy practices is advantageous. Create and manage weekly and monthly activity programs that are engaging and promote independence. Evaluate therapeutic programs to ensure they reflect residents' backgrounds, participation, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity, and related skills. Provide one-to-one activities for residents who are uncomfortable participating in group activities.- Supervise volunteers for in-house activities and community outings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong empathy and compassion for elderly residents. Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with team members. Ability to make independent decisions when necessary. Strong communication skills with residents, families, and staff. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Tech-savvy with experience in smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and home entertainment devices.
