Summer Camp provides children with hands-on experiences through science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, literacy, outdoor exploration, sensory play, and social-emotional learning. As a Camp Counselor, you will help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children ages 3-6 can learn through play while building confidence, friendships, and kindergarten readiness skills. You will assist with daily camp activities, outdoor adventures, water play, creative projects, educational centers, field trips, and interactive group experiences while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of every child. At The Learning Hub Academy, we pride ourselves on maintaining small program sizes of just 6-12 students , allowing our educators to build meaningful relationships with each child and provide individualized support in a family-like environment. This is a paid summer position with the opportunity for long-term employment during the 2026-2027 academic school year for candidates who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, enthusiasm, and a passion for early childhood education. Duties Lead and supervise preschool-aged children in a variety of camp activities, including arts and crafts, sports, storytelling, and outdoor play Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to proper child supervision protocols and implementing behavior management strategies Facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences that promote early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that arise during camp sessions Maintain a clean, organized activity area and ensure all equipment is used safely and responsibly Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, and transition between activities to keep the schedule running smoothly Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges by applying inclusive teaching techniques and collaborating with other staff members Skills Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive and structured environment Knowledge of early childhood education practices and childhood development stages Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or camp settings Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently in case of minor injuries or emergencies Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members Familiarity with behavior management techniques tailored for young children Background in teaching, tutoring, or childcare enhances your ability to support diverse learning needs Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or babysitting adds versatility to activity planning Understanding of Christian counseling or similar values-based approaches can enrich the camp experience for children Embark on a fulfilling journey where your energy fuels joyful learning moments!
