Summary Statement A seasonal maintenance position is available at the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR), in theDivision of Climate, Coastal and Energy:
This position is responsible for providing a varied set of duties based on the operational priorities of the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve. These duties can include mowing, trimming, trash pick-up, janitorial services including cleaning of restrooms, snow and leaf removal, landscape maintenance, invasive species removal, tree/brush removal, trail maintenance, equipment repair and maintenance and other duties as needed. This position is a casual seasonal 29.5hours/week, with anticipated hire dates of April through mid November 2026. Work is performed under various weather conditions. Additional work on weekends, evenings and holidays may be scheduled. Essential Functions Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.- Performs grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, trail maintenance, landscape bed maintenance, trash removal, vegetation removal, leaf removal and snow/ice removal.
- Performs custodial services in restrooms, offices, and other buildings.
- Operation of landscaping equipment and use of hand and power tools.
- Set-up, monitoring and clean-up support for programs and special events.
- Provide excellent customer service and information to visitors.
- Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Duties will vary for each position.
