Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Senior Camp Counselor and become a vital leader in creating an engaging, safe, and nurturing environment for children and youth. In this energetic role, you will oversee daily camp activities, foster positive behavior, and support younger staff members. Your passion for working with children, combined with your leadership skills, will inspire campers to explore new interests, develop essential skills, and build lasting friendships. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a vibrant camp atmosphere. Duties Lead and supervise campers during all camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times Manage behavior using effective behavior management techniques aligned with childhood development principles Plan and facilitate a variety of activities including sports, arts, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote growth and fun Support younger staff members through mentorship and guidance, fostering teamwork and leadership skills Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive environment in both structured activities and free time Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly Collaborate with team members to create inclusive programming that accommodates children with special education needs or behavioral challenges Requirements Proven experience working with children in settings such as camps, daycare, tutoring, or childcare environments Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Background in teaching, special education, or early childhood education is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members positively Ability to lead activities across various domains including sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling is a plus Join us as a Senior Camp Counselor and help create memorable experiences that foster growth, confidence, and joy among young campers!
