Job Description

Full job description This position directly supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participate in the implementation of community outings, medical trips, shopping trips, haircuts, and other activities as directed by resident care needs. Participate in active treatment programming as assigned. The schedule for this position will be Wednesdays through Friday from 2-10:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. The ideal candidate will need to have some schedule flexibility. Actively engages with individuals at all times and provide all necessary supports to meet their needs, including all direct care and service requirements. Follows Active Treatment/Programming Schedule. Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment for resident use in recreation and leisure activities and assist in the maintenance of activity records. Drive vehicles to community and leisure activities. Follow established loading and unloading procedures as well as ensure compliance with vehicle safety. Assist with bus runs as needed. Coordinate specific events and outings ensuring that all monies, addresses, reservations, information, supplies, and directions are available. Work with residents and the Activities Department to decorate the facility for special events and holidays. Provide follow up and monitoring for special skills training and general recreational and leisure programs. Participate in active treatment programming as assigned. Coordinate resident birthday parties ensuring that all presents, decorations, and entertainment are provided. Assists residents in developing skills for community-based leisure and activities of daily living to better participate in the communities in which they live.

High School Diploma/GED Experience :
Must be 21 years of age or older

High School Diploma/GED Experience:
One year experience working with developmentally disabled desired. College, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours can substitute for experience.
