This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged children, can confidently lead a group, and is comfortable creating a safe, structured, and fun environment. The Lead School Age Teacher & Camp Counselor will be responsible for supervising and engaging children in our before and after school program, school-out days, and summer camp program. This role requires strong classroom management skills, creativity, patience, and the ability to work with mixed age groups of up to 25 children .
Responsibilities include:
Supervising and leading a mixed-age group of school-age children Planning and implementing engaging activities, games, crafts, and projects Supporting homework time and tutoring as needed Maintaining a safe, positive, and organized environment Assisting with summer camp activities, field trips, special events, and school-out days Communicating professionally with children, families, and staff Helping with transitions, meals, transportation routines, and daily schedules Following all Kinderworld Academy policies and DCF childcare regulations Assisting in preschool classrooms when needed
Qualifications:
Must have experience working with school-age children Must have experience managing mixed age groups of up to 25 children Must be dependable, patient, energetic, and professional Must be able to lead activities and keep children engaged Must have strong behavior management and supervision skills DCF training or childcare experience preferred CPR/First Aid preferred, or willingness to obtain Must be able to pass all required background screenings We are looking for someone who can bring structure, creativity, and fun to our school-age and camp programs while helping children feel safe, supported, and excited to participate each day.
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
