This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week. Student employees for this position must: Be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Participate in scheduled meetings, trainings, and evaluations Have the ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and academic breaks as needed Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism Be a positive representative of the University of Florida and the Reitz Union Be comfortable assisting large groups of people ranging from young adolescents to older adults. Respond to and assist with emergency situations and building evacuations per department procedures or as instructed by building management staff Position specific responsibilities: Commit to working at least 2 shifts (10 hours) per week Maintain, organize, and inventory equipment, materials, and workspaces within the ACC Assist with pottery processing, including kiln loading/unloading, glaze dipping, finger sanding, clay cutting, and finished pottery handling (will be trained) Oversee the paint-a-pot area, ensuring proper use and providing guidance to patrons Assist and engage with community members, as well as with socials, camps, and classes Manage customer transactions, including processing card payments and reconciling daily reports Perform laundry and thorough daily cleaning of the entire space to maintain a safe and organized studio Process pottery orders and restock supplies as needed Utilize Microsoft Teams and Excel for communication and administrative tasks Monitor patrons using equipment to ensure they are using equipment safely Complete all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion Must be physically able to lift 25 pounds Other duties as assigned
