Job Description

This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to Lake Sumter State College's success. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation of departmental activities. This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities. ResponsiblefordemonstratingLSSC'svaluesofCaring,Communicating,Collaborating,and Celebrating. Students cannot work during class meeting times. Assist with leading the student intramural sports campus board Assist with intramural/event registration and oversee intramural/event rosters Assist with implementing procedures, policies, and equipment/field checks and repairs Inventory all intramural/event equipment and assist with ordering trophies, t-shirts, etc. Communicate accurately and timely with staff and students as needed. Assist with scheduling sports events, facilities, and officials Assist with the development of electronic and paper communication tools Willingness to travel between other LSSC campuses Perform Other duties as assigned Strong Organizational and multitasking skills Excellent Verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and confidentiality Competency-Based Education (CBE) Goals Addressed in this position: Career and Self-Development Communication Professionalism Teamwork Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours) Currently, hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA Minimum age of 18
