Activities Assistant - Assisted Living Providence Living at Pembroke Pines - 3.0 Pembroke Pines, FL Job Details Full-time 4 hours ago Qualifications Assisted living facility experience Working with geriatric patients Working with seniors Interviewing Long-term care assistance Full Job Description Must have assisted living experience. As an Activities Assistant, some of your essential duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating resident activities and special events Assisting with the development of the monthly activities calendar
  • Promoting programs to residents in small and large group settings
  • Encouraging resident participation in programs and activities
  • Develops genuine relationships with residents with an emphasis on being supportive and encouraging the best quality of life possible
  • Assisting with registration of residents for trips and programs
  • Escorting residents on activities/events outside of the community as assigned
  • Assisting with preparation and set up of activities/events, including, but not limited to, gathering necessary materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Leading activities as directed by the department supervisor or Executive Director
  • Maintains general observation of residents' function and behavior and reports significant changes in accordance with company policy and procedure
  • Functioning as a liaison to residents, their families, and the public
  • Acting as a first impressions ambassador for the community by performing job in a cheerful and professional manner
  • Performing tasks in a manner that preserves each resident's dignity, privacy, and confidentiality while demonstrating friendliness, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
  • Performing daily one-on-one visits with residents
  • Helping to maintain an inviting, functional, and organized programming area, including appropriate and seasonal decoration of display area
  • Assisting with surveying and interviewing of residents to determine their interest and talents, as well as their satisfaction with the community's programs and activities
  • Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, families, visitors, and other associates
  • Assisting with the maintenance of all department supplies and equipment
  • Ensuring overall safety be maintaining a clean and safe working environment, by accident prevention, and by applying safe working practices. Documenting and reporting incidents to department supervisor and/or Executive Director
  • Following departmental budget guidelines
  • Attending required in-service, training, and staff meetings
  • Performing other duties as assigned Experience Previous experience in long-term care or senior care settings is preferred.
Familiarity with recreational therapy principles or event planning is a plus. Strong schedule management skills to effectively coordinate multiple activities. Excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families, and staff members. Background in social work or caregiving can be beneficial for understanding resident needs. A genuine interest in enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities. Must have assisted living experience.
