Port St. John Community Center - Brevard County, Florida About the Opportunity The County is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Recreation Aide to help provide recreational programs and activities while engaging with park patrons to assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organized Community Center. This entry-level, part-time position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude, and are interested in gaining experience in parks and recreation, customer service, or community programming. What You'll Do Serve as a facility attendant for Sunday rentals at the Port St. John Community Center, monitoring activities and providing excellent customer service Welcome and interact with patrons to provide information about recreation programs, services, and facility policies. Assist with planning and organizing recreational activities, events, and programs. Issue and monitor the use of recreational equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used safely and properly maintained. Collect program fees and issue receipts. Answer telephones, respond to public inquiries, and perform other clerical duties as assigned. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming Community Center. Perform other related duties as assigned. What You'll Need Some experience, paid or volunteer, in leisure activities Valid Florida's Driver's License Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public Dependable, organized, and willing to learn Basic math and computer skills are helpful Ability to pass drug screening (Drug-Free Workplace) Ability to pass a background check Why You'll Love It This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in parks and recreation while making a positive impact in the community.
