$16.50 per hour Bring Joy and Meaning to Every Day Beach Breeze Rehab & Care is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding role, you will help create engaging programs and meaningful experiences that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Position Summary The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities designed to meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of residents. This role plays an important part in fostering a vibrant and engaging environment where residents can thrive. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting daily recreational and social activities. Lead and participate in games, arts and crafts, music programs, exercise groups, special events, and holiday celebrations. Encourage resident participation and promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere. Develop meaningful relationships with residents and families to better understand individual interests and preferences. Provide one-on-one visits and companionship to residents as needed. Assist with transporting residents to and from activities when appropriate. Set up, organize, and clean activity areas and equipment before and after events. Observe and document resident participation, engagement, and responses to activities. Help maintain activity supplies and inventory. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care and programming. Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in activities, recreation, customer service, or a related field preferred. Experience working with geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care populations preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate approach to resident care. Must be dependable, flexible, and professional.
